The rear-exposed 33-megapixel Exmor R full-frame sensor with high-speed readout, high sensitivity, and highly accurate color reproduction, combined with the high processing power of the new Bionz XR image processor, ensures outstanding image quality. Thanks to high ISO sensitivity (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for photos and 100-102400 for videos) even in low light.
In addition to the two classic RAW and JPEG formats, the HEIF format (High Efficiency Image File) is also available for photos. Thanks to this format's inherent 4:2:2 color sampling and 10-bit color depth, even the finest gradations are reproduced naturally and realistically.
The 7 IV has two media slots that support UHS-I and UHS-II SDXC and SDHC cards. In addition, one of the slots is compatible with CFexpress Type A memory cards. This means that high read and write speeds are also possible without any problems.

Highest image quality in the class of fast standard zoom lenses
The optical design has been fundamentally revised on the basis of the latest technologies. The 17 lens elements, including two LD (Low Dispersion) and one GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) element, have been arranged in such a way that optical aberrations are optimally corrected.
The 28-75 mm F/2.8 G2 demonstrates its full performance capabilities in conjunction with the latest ultra-high-resolution digital cameras: over the entire zoom range, it offers very high resolving power right into the corners of the image, with image quality at open aperture in particular being once again significantly better than that of the predecessor model A036. The 28-75 mm F/2.8 G2 also offers a very attractive bokeh effect.
Fast and silent VXD autofocus for precise focusing
The autofocus of the 28-75 mm F/2.8 G2 is based on a very responsive VXD linear motor developed by Tamron, which focuses on the subject about twice as fast as the previous model. Even at open aperture F/2.8, it guarantees precise focusing of both close and distant subjects, as well as reliable focus tracking on moving objects. The AF is so quiet that the Lens is ideal for photo and video shooting in situations where absolute silence is required.
Shortest focusing distance of 18 cm at an initial focal length of 28 mm for creative
close-ups with a maximum magnification of 1:2.7. With the 28-75 mm F/2.8 G2, the subject can still be focused at 28 mm even at a shooting distance of 18 cm, an improvement of 19 cm over the A036 model. The working distance between the front lens and the subject is only 4.4 cm. The maximum magnification corresponds to a ratio of 1:2.7, allowing dynamic close-ups with a large main subject and a wide background.
Advanced design with improved ergonomics and ease of use
The new design of the 28-75 mm F/2.8 G2 is groundbreaking for future Tamron Lenses. The focus ring and zoom ring are easier to grip and more comfortable to operate. Unlike previous models, the lens barrel features a glossy surface that is particularly resistant to scratches and dirt. There have also been selective improvements to the inner workings to achieve greater ease of use. Among other things, the resistance and torque of the zoom ring have been optimized for smoother and more precise focal length adjustment.

The 28-75mm F/2.8 G2 is compatible with the new TAMRON Lens Utility, which was developed by TAMRON itself.
