Leofoto NB-40 ball head with NP-50 quick coupling
All ball heads in the NB series from Leofoto are characterized by a very comfortable weight/force ratio for users. This also applies to the NB-40, as its relatively low weight of only 510 g can support a heavy load of 25 kg. Equipping it with weighty camera and Lens combinations is therefore completely unproblematic.

The favourable ratio of weight to performance is partly due to Leofoto's strict production concept: only an extremely strong aluminium alloy (so-called aircraft aluminium, black anodized) is used as a material. It is always milled with absolute precision under computer control, i.e. neither forged nor shaped in any other way. Strict adherence to this concept throughout produces precision ball heads of the highest quality. The 40 mm thick ball of the NB-40 can therefore also be moved completely "light-footed" and fixed precisely. The rotary knob designed for this purpose is nice and large, which makes handling much easier. The ball can be angled up to 90°. The 100 mm height of the NB-40 ball head contributes to a favorably low center of gravity, which not least reduces problematic vibrations.

The 3/8" tripod thread fits many tripods from Leofoto, but also other brands. The laser-engraved scale around the base and a spirit level (circular bubble) on the quick-release coupling are useful aids for precisely "metering" settings and panorama pans. But that's not all, because the NB-40 ball head can be swiveled twice. In addition to the base, the NP-50 quick coupling on top can also be rotated through 360° - independently of each other. For this purpose, the quick-release coupling also "circles" a precisely laser-engraved, finely graduated scale. This considerably expands the adjustment options and also allows much faster adjustment. Last but not least, the NP-50 quick release is of course Arca-Swiss compatible, how could it be otherwise with such a comfortable ball head! If necessary, the NP-50 quick release can be easily replaced with another type. At Leofoto you will also find what you are looking for.
