  • Color-neutral filter glass
  • Blocks disturbing UV components of daylight
  • No extension factor
  • MRC nano coating
  • Made in Germany

Active photography demands a lot from cameras and Lens. Protecting the sensitive front lenses from flying sand, dust, fingerprints or splash water with a B+W filter is the obvious choice. B+W filters not only cost a fraction of the Lens, they are also easier to clean.

They can remain in front of the Lens at all times, as they are absolutely color-neutral, still of the highest transparency and extremely low-reflection due to the B+W MRC or B+W MRC nano coating. The optical signal reaches the image sensor (or film) unaffected. With the extremely clear and highly transparent B+W protective filters, no extension factor needs to be taken into account.

Protective filters play a particularly important role in digital photography. Greater depth of field due to small sensors increases the influence of front lens contamination on image quality. Fingerprints, for example, have a significant effect on sharpness, especially with zoom lenses with lower light intensity. Frequent cleaning of the front lens can not only leave scratches, but can also transport dirt particles or moisture from the edge of the frame into the interior of the lens system.

MASTER 010 UV
The classic B+W protective filter blocks the disturbing UV component from daylight. The invisible UV light occurs more frequently in pure sea air and in high mountains and can lead to blurring and a blue cast. The color-neutral B+W 010 UV Haze filter is equally suitable for analog and digital cameras and ensures more brilliant images and can remain permanently on the lens as a front lens protection.
